Medellín, September 2025. As is tradition, after two years, Expo Agrofuturo returns to Medellín with a robust academic agenda to discuss the present and future of the sector, with the new technologies that are being used to enhance the productivity of the sector.

For this version, Expo Agrofuturo will have more than 350 exhibitors and representatives from 11 countries, including Brazil, Taiwan, Chile, China, Italy and the United States, who will meet in Plaza Mayor Medellín from September 10 to 12.

The announcement, which was made at the Medellín Wholesale Central, included the participation of Mario Cajiao, vice president of Corferias; Ricardo Jaramillo, co-founder of Expo Agrofuturo; Manuel Alejandro Naranjo, Secretary of Economic Development of the Government of Antioquia; María Fernanda Galeano, Secretary of Economic Development of the Mayor's Office of Medellín and Felipe España, co-founder of DataRock.

At the beginning of the event, Mario Cajiao, vice president of Corferias, commented that “Expo Agrofuturo is a platform that promotes the smart field. There will be three days of a packed agenda in which we will have topics of financing and economy, bioinputs, use of resources, technological applications, among many others. It is a strategic space for all those people who see an opportunity in the Colombian countryside”.

The vice president of Corferias highlighted that the fair is open to professionals who want to participate. You can enter the website and register. “We have 35% discount for both days of FIXA. One day is worth 560,000. but with the two-day discount it would be a value of 695,000”.

Then, Ricardo Jaramillo, co-founder of Expo Agrofuturo, highlighted the importance of the fair to connect the different actors in the agricultural system and pointed out that in these 18 years we have had a very satisfactory experience in investment, in land use, in marketing. Today we talk much more about entrepreneurship and ecosystem. Not only see agriculture as sowing, but see it as an ecosystem that goes to the consumer. Understand that it is a process in which many logistics, technology, software and marketing services interact”.

For his part, Manuel Alejandro Naranjo, Secretary of Economic Development of the Government of Antioquia, highlighted the upward behavior that the agricultural sector has had this year, even marking the growth of the national economy in the first half of 2025, “is a sector that represents approximately 8 % of Antioquia's GDP. Behavior that demonstrates the importance of platforms like this fair for employment and promoting exports in the department”.

In addition, Naranjo highlighted the results of the agreement with the National Guarantee Fund “, we have placed nearly $75,000 million in credits, most of them for small informal productive units, which corresponds to nearly 15,500 assigned credits, compared to the alliance we have with Banco Agrario, we have placed almost 4,000 credits, 89% of them to small producers”.
